I Beam

Superior Steel Supply inventories, distributes and saw cuts a wide range of I beams. I beam typically range from 4” x 5.7# to 24” x 121# and primarily come in 20’ & 40’ lengths. I beam generally differ from wide flange beam due to their narrow flanges and in some cases thinner web.

I beam produced domestically are primarily done by the use of Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF) that use 95%+ post-consumer recycled scrap.
I beam are generally produced from the mill with a multiple grade specification of ASTM A992 grade 50.

I beam are generally used in the wide array of steel applications including support trusses, construction, infrastructure, structural fabrication, bridge framework and MRO (maintenance, repair and operational).
Wide flange beams are a popular selection for use in the above applications as they are commonly saw cut, drilled, laser cut, rolled, cambered, welded and can be industrially coated.
