Pickled & Oiled Sheet

Superior Steel Supply inventories, distributes and processes a wide range of carbon pickled & oiled (P&O) sheet. P&O sheet typically comes in a range of 16ga up to 10ga thick and can be procured widths of 48” and 60” wide. Standard lengths are 96”, 120” and 144”.

P&O sheet is produced at the mill in coil form and is then processed to improve surface condition by submersion in a pickle solution to remove impurities, scale and rust before its coated with a rust inhibitor. After the P&&O process occurs, then coils can be leveled to create sheets on a leveling line. P&O sheet coils produced domestically can accomplished by Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF) mills that use 95%+ post-consumer recycled scrap, by integrated mills that use iron ore, cooked coal (coke) and limestone or by a rerolling mill that is buying semi-finished slabs from other sources.
P&O sheet is generally produced from the mill with the grade specification of ASTM A1011 or ASTM A36 if ordered in thicker sections, but can also be produced in a variety of other grades.

P&O sheet is generally used in the wide array of steel applications including metal buildings, bumpers, brackets, gussets, ornamental projects, and surface sensitive projects.
Sheet is a popular selection for use in the above applications as material can be commonly sheared, plasma cut, laser cut, drilled, formed, welded and can be industrially coated.
